Always disconnect the battery before working on the charging system — start with the negative terminal. Loosen the drive belt tensioner and remove the serpentine belt from the alternator pulley. Disconnect the main power cable (usually red, 16mm²) and the 2-pin plug (sense and ground). Remove mounting bolts carefully — these are often tight due to vibration. When installing the new VG1095094002 unit, align it properly before tightening to avoid belt misalignment. Torque bolts to 35–40 Nm and re-tension the belt to manufacturer spec (typically 50–60 lbs deflection). Reconnect wiring securely and check for any rubbing between cables and moving parts. After starting the engine, measure voltage at idle — should read 26.8–27.6V under no load. If voltage is low, inspect grounding points and belt tension.
