Always inspect both left and right-side slack adjusters during brake maintenance. Before installing the 3501B-051 H3 unit, clean the S-cam shaft thoroughly and check for wear or pitting. Slide the adjuster onto the camshaft smoothly—do not hammer. Ensure the splines engage fully (10 teeth design). Tighten the nut to 180–220 Nm using a torque wrench, then back off slightly to align the cotter pin hole. Recheck brake stroke after installation; it should be within 25–30 mm. Test brakes at low speed before full operation. Replace in pairs if excessive wear is found on either side.
