How to Install the Sinotruk HOWO Shift Fork (AZ2214220006) – Technician’s Guide

1. Préparation: Park the vehicle on level ground, disconnect the battery, drain transmission oil, and safely remove the gearbox. Work in a clean environment to avoid debris contamination.
2. Access Selector Rail: Remove the side cover of the transmission and locate the selector rail for the 3rd/4th gear assembly. Identify the retaining bolt or pin securing the old fork.
3. Remove Old Fork: Loosen the mounting hardware and slide off the worn unit. Inspect for bending, groove wear, or cracking — common signs after prolonged high-torque use.
4. Install New Fork (AZ2214220006): Slide the new forged steel fork onto the selector rod. Ensure full engagement with the synchronizer sleeve; there should be no lateral play or binding.
5. Spécification de couple: Reinstall fastener and tighten to 20–22 Nm. Do not over-tighten — risk of thread damage is high, especially on aluminum housings.
6. Test Before Final Assembly: Manually move the rail back and forth. Movement must be smooth and consistent. Any resistance indicates misalignment.
7. Rebuild & Recharge: Reinstall transmission, reconnect linkages, and refill with GL-5 80W-90 gear oil. Test shift quality at idle before full operation.
